Steve Risch, PDG de Fortwenger
N°1 français, le fabricant de pains d’épices Fortwenger investit 2,5 millions d’euros dans l’outil de production sur son site historique de Gertwiller. Employant entre 90 et 110 personnes selon les périodes de l‘année, l‘entreprise connaît une croissance de chiffre d’affaires à deux chiffres. Il est de 20 millions d’euros.
“Le Palais du Pain d’épices a 10 ans !
C’est à Gertwiller, à mi-chemin entre Colmar et Strasbourg, que se perpétue la plus délicieuse des traditions alsaciennes.
Dans ce petit village aux typiques maisons à colombages, les ateliers Fortwenger fabriquent du pain d’épices depuis plus de 250 ans. Fiers de ce savoir-faire artisanal qui se transmet de génération en génération, les ateliers Fortwenger ont créé fin 2009 un univers gourmand, espace animé et interactif qui fleure bon les effluves de miel, de cannelle et de gingembre : le Palais du Pain d’épices.
Le « Mannele », petit bonhomme en pain d’épices, guide les visiteurs de salle en salle pour raconter l’origine de ce « pain au miel et aux épices », dans un décor digne du conte d’Hansel et Gretel… Jusqu’aux ateliers de fabrication où l’on assiste, en direct, à l’élaboration de cette délicieuse spécialité alsacienne.
