Synergie culturelle à Metz
La nouvelle ‘Cité Musicale Metz’ amalgame les trois entités culturelles de la ville de Metz et propose sa nouvelle programmation 2017/18.
Le concept de ‘Cité Musicale Metz’ est né il y a un an. Il est le fruit de la convergence entre l’Arsenal, l’orchestre national de Lorraine (ONL), la BAM, et les Trinitaires, les trois salles culturelles emblématiques de Metz. L’ambition préalable de ce regroupement est d’ouvrir un espace musical ouvert au plus large public ouvert au classique jusqu’à la création musicale contemporaine des musiques d’aujourd’hui. Cet espace se veut aussi ouvert à la création musicale et artistique afin de faire émerger les artistes-créateurs. L’année dernière, ce regroupement a engrangé 300.000 spectateurs et proposé 220 spectacles en employant 150 collaborateurs et techniciens pour un budget de 13,5 millions d’euros. Ce dispositif s’attache aussi au secteur social en donnant des représentations dans les prisons, maisons de retraite ou encore en réalisant des spectacles adaptés en direction de la population sourde ou malentendante avec des représentations ‘sono-tactiles’.
Pour plus de visibilité
Cette ‘Cité Musicale Metz’ s’appuie sur une nouvelle identité visuelle, symbole de la maison de toutes les musiques et de la danse et propose pour la fin de l’année 2017 un fil rouge commun tel que la guitare sous toutes ses formes. La ‘Cité Musicale Metz’ accueille aussi des artistes en résidences partagées comme le compositeur Zad Moulatka ou encore le violoniste David Grimal. Mais la ‘Cité Musicale Metz’ porte aussi en elle une volonté d’éducation illustrée par le projet Demos, dispositif d’éducation à la musique classique, construit sur trois ans en faveur d’enfants qui n’ont jamais pratiqué la musique. Bien entendu, ce regroupement se veut être aussi un outil de promotion de la ville de Metz dans la grande région transfrontalière soutenu financièrement ici par l’Europe, l’Etat, la région Grand Est et bien sûr, par la municipalité.
Partie prenante du dispositif, l’ONL, participe à ce mouvement promotionnel en se projetant dans une grande tournée partout dans le Grand Est (Reims, Epinal, Bar-le-Duc, Chaumont…) et dans la Grande Région européenne avec la Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken-Kaiserslautern, à Liège etc. Quant à l’Arsenal, vaisseau amiral du dispositif, ce dernier est à la croisée des genres et des publics. De fait, l’Arsenal veut offrir depuis 1989 le meilleur de la musique et de la danse. Sa grande salle de 1.354 places en fait l’un des lieux de concert et d’enregistrements privilégiés, notamment de la sphère baroque, grâce à une acoustique exceptionnelle. Réinventé par Bofill en 1989, l’Arsenal figure désormais dans le palmarès des plus prestigieuses salles d’Europe.
Un espace multiple
Si la musique est sa vocation première, l’Arsenal a fait le choix de l’ouverture et de la diversité en proposant une riche programmation et en offrant une place toute particulière à la danse ou encore aux musiques nouvelles, au jazz et aux musiques du monde. De plus, l’Arsenal propose chaque année cinq à six expositions, consacrées exclusivement à la photographie, dans un espace d’exposition complètement réinventé. Il reste à noter, et c’est finalement assez peu connu, l’Arsenal réunit en fait trois salles de concert, une galerie d’exposition, une salle dédiée aux conférences et rencontres, deux espaces de réception et une boutique. Il anime aussi deux monuments historiques, la Chapelle des Templiers du XIIe siècle et l’ancienne basilique Saint-Pierre-aux-Nonnains du IVe siècle.
Des remplacement problématiques
L’on apprenait également, lors de cette présentation de la programmation 2017/18, le départ de l’emblématique chef d’orchestre Jacques Mercier, qui a élevé l’ONL au niveau des scènes internationales et encore jusqu’à la fin de l’année directeur musical et chef permanent. Aujourd’hui, un appel à candidature est lancé pour trouver un nouveau chef d’orchestre à l’orchestre national de Lorraine. Un nouveau chef devrait être trouvé d’ici à fin septembre. Un appel à candidature est également lancé pour trouver un nouveau manager pour la ‘Cité Musicale Metz’ alors que Claire Guillemain n’a pas tenu un an à la direction de la ‘Cité Musicale Metz’. Malgré le souci de confidentialité signé par les parties, il apparait qu’il est extrêmement difficile de trouver un ‘super-manager’ pour les entités aux fortes personnalités qui composent ce regroupement culturel. Gestionnaire, élément dynamiseur, créatif, artiste, psychologue, diplomate… Le (la) futur(e) patron(e) ne sera pas facile à trouver.
